A three-year-old from Rome was killed in an Otsego County crash Wednesday night, with half a dozen others injured in the crash, New York State Police reported Thursday.

Amina Estrada was pronounced dead at the scene after troopers responded just before 9 p.m. Wednesday to an SUV that went off the road on Frost Hill Road in the town of Plainfield, according to a release from state police. A preliminary investigation found that the vehicle went off the road, struck an embankment and overturned partially, police said.

Two adults — driver Amber V. Brown, 28, and Edgardo T. Estrada, 42, — and four children aged 3 months, 1, 3 and 6 were brought to the St. Elizabeth campus of Mohawk Valley Health Systems for further medical care, the release said. All of the occupants are from Rome.

State police reported that the crash is still under investigation. Troopers declined further comment at this time.
